Gmail creator predicts Google will kill ChromeOS

ChromeOS either goes away or gets merged with Android

Paul Bucheit, who created AdSense for Google, was lead developer for Gmail and came up with the slogan "Don't be Evil" predicted in a Twitter post that Google will kill ChromeOS or merge it with Android.

The only difference between the two is that one is that one is widely accepted and installed on millions of devices and the other has not yet shipped, he said.

ChromeOS could add some value with some tweaks to work on systems without touchscreens, he said. Funny, Microsoft is catching flak for not having a tablet OS that does touchscreens.

He's not the only one with little faith in ChromeOS, either.

Bucheit, who left Google to found FriendFeed in 2007, which was acquired by FaceBook in 2009, joined the Silicon Valley startup incubator Y Combinator in November.
