Netflix making good on Roku streaming troubles

Did you have problems streaming Netflix to your Roku player last weekend? Many people did. I had a brief issue with getting my queue to load; I had to exit the Netflix channel and re-enter it a couple of times before everything loaded properly. It wasn't a huge deal and I quickly forgot about it.

Netflix hasn't forgotten, though, and they're trying to make up for the issues people had by offering a 5% discount off this month's Netflix bill. They sent out an email with the subject line: "We're sorry you may have had trouble watching instantly via your Roku Streaming Player." The email says:

Dear Peter, Recently, you may have had trouble instantly watching movies or TV episodes via your Roku Streaming Player. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. If you were unable to instantly watch a movie or TV episode via your Roku Streaming Player, click on this account specific link in the next 7 days to apply your 5% credit to your next billing statement [link removed] for your 1 DVD out at-a-time (Unlimited) plan. Credit can only be applied once. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding. If you need further assistance, please call us at 1-866-923-0898. -The Netflix Team

Now considering how inexpensive Netflix is, a 5% discount isn't going to amount to a huge discount for me, but it certainly is a nice gesture; the kind of gesture that builds brand loyalty. Anyway if you were streaming to Roku over the weekend and had issues, check your inbox.
