Registrants of canceled Android Developer Lab getting a free phone?

This winter Google has been putting on a series of Android Developer Labs across the US and Europe (sorry, registration is closed for all sessions). The Washington, DC event was scheduled for February 9th, but was canceled due to the blizzard that hit the East Coast.

If you were a confirmed registrant for that session, keep an eye on your email. According to Phandroid, Google is sending out a message to registrants saying they're unable to reschedule the Lab; that's the bad news. The good news is, they're going to send you a free "Android device" to ease the sting of missing the event. The email contains a link to a form you'll have to fill out in order to get your device. Treat this as rumor for now; we haven't seen the deal mentioned anywhere else and Phandroid was tipped off by one of their readers. Better safe than sorry though. If you happened to be registered for the DC Android Developer Lab it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on your inbox and have a glance at your spam folder now and then, just to make sure you don't miss out.
