Chinese government cracks down on virtual currency

Over the past two decades, China has gone from a tightly controlled socialist state to a freewheeling capitalist economy -- in real life, anyway. Now the government wants to impose controls on virtual economies like those in Second Life and World of Warcraft, for fears that cyber cafes will become gold-farming sweatshops and MMORPGs will become de facto unregulated banks.
