Give people the gift of their own money

By the time your holiday visit is finished, your family may be somewhat irritated with you for spending all your time avoiding them and surfing the Internet. Why not make them think you've been hunting high and low for their money?

Mary Pitman wrote and pointed me to a couple of different sites -- missingmoney.com helps find money that's being held in your name by some states' found property offices; and TreasuryDirect.gov can help you discover if your grandparents bought you a savings bond years ago that you never claimed.

What better gift to leave behind -- and one that won't cost you a cent!
