Script kiddie dedicates malware to his girlfriend

A sweet sentiment is circulating the Internet that carries a malicious payload.

According to a recent Sophos blog post, there’s a piece of malware that, when opened, displays the lyrics to the love song “Honey” by Japanese band l’Arc-en-Ciel.

The file name that appears when the malware is opened is “Honey You Are So Sweet!!!! hon3y I mISS U!!!!

But then there’s the dark side; the malware deletes files on the unsuspecting user’s computer and replaces them with a copy of itself, and also modifies a number of registry entries.

The code could also be classified as annoyingware, as it makes the CD tray on the user’s PC open and close at random intervals.

Anything for love.
