W. Virginian tries, fails at Nigerian-style Internet scam

Don Reed of Hinton, West Virginia, approached unsuspecting souls online and convinced them he worked for the state Division of Natural Resources, and that if they were interested in state jobs they should submit their resumes, including their birth certificates and social security numbers, to him. Things went awry when Reed attempted to get a third party to send letters to job applicants, who became suspicious at the scam artists spectacularly poor imitation of West Virginia governor Joe Manchin.
