Russians pelt southeastern US with space junk


It's not exactly what we all feared during the Cold War, but a series of explosions in the sky over the United States were ultimately traced back to Russian rocketry. Residents of Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina saw bright streaks in the sky and heard a series of explosions, and so made the obvious assumption: space aliens.
