Mitsubishi beats Cisco to market with WLAN phone

The Register – As soon as the idea of a WLAN phone was floated, the critics came out of the woodwork, claiming that telephony over IP didn't offer high enough voice quality and that Wi-Fi coverage wasn't complete enough. Soon those claims will be tested in the market, as Mitsubishi has released the first commercially available 802.11b-based phone. The Japanese giant has beat expected pioneer Cisco to the punch.
