Yahoo! News – In Japan's first test of grid computing (and a successful test at that), NTT Data Corp., a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp., linked 12,206 individual computers on the Internet to provide computing power for two scientific projects. The company says it is now looking to market the grid for commercial applications.
