Tangram Enterprise Solutions recently announced enhancements to its Asset Insight software, which tracks the hardware and software configuration, location and ownership information of desktops and servers. For example, Asset Insight gives customers a full inventory of the software packages on each desktop. Asset Insight helps determine the number of users that need software upgrades or installments. By year-end, Asset Insight will be able to track handheld and wireless devices, Tangram says. An average implementation of a large network takes about six months, and the software is priced from $20 to $35 per device or system to be tracked. Asset Insight works with desktop PC platforms and all network server platforms, including Unix, Linux, Solaris and Windows.
