Broadband wireless provider expands service coverage

ISP e-xpedient/CAVU of Orlando, Fla., this week announced that it has entered into agreements to accumulate 11 more 38-GHz broadband fixed-wireless licenses to expand its 100M bit/sec metropolitan Internet service.

E-xpedient already has six broadband licenses and offers services in several metropolitan areas including Orlando and Salt Lake City, Utah.

The company's network uses multiple self-healing, fixed-wireless rings in each metropolitan area. A ring consists of between 10 and 20 buildings and two 100M bit/sec bands. If one band fails, traffic will shift over to the other band.

The rings are connected to e-xpedient points of presence, which have OC-3 connections to the Internet.

E-xpedient offers a range of packages. Pricing begins at $100 per month for an office with one to three users. A package for an office with around 50 users would cost $500 per month.

E-xpedient's service area will include Cleveland, Ohio; Columbus Ohio; Charlotte, N.C.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Rochester, N.Y.; and Richmond, Va.
