As an engineer, I must admit I find a certain pleasure in OMLAs - obscure, multi-letter acronyms. And wireless is full of these tongue-twisters - WLANs, OFDM, AES, EAP and the list goes on and on. There are so many that we couldn't possibly list all of them in one of these columns. So what we're going to do today is to provide a quick look at the technologies and standards behind the two most important cellular standards families
