SAP AG, Europe's largest software company, has launched a new software product that enables organizations to integrate people, information and business processes across multiple technologies and other organizations.

The product, NetWeaver, is fully interoperable with Microsoft Corp.'s .Net architecture and IBM Corp.'s WebSphere systems, SAP said Thursday in a statement.

NetWeaver serves as the backbone for SAP's product suite, delivering a complete, open and flexible infrastructure that allows companies to realize additional value from existing IT investments, the company said.

SAP, IBM and Microsoft recently established joint collaborative technology support centers that will staff and support projects using NetWeaver and their integration with .Net and WebSphere, according to the Walldorf, Germany, software company.

A new composite application framework built into NetWeaver enables SAP and its partners to create new applications targeting cross-functional business processes through tools, frameworks, rules and methodologies, according to the company.

Another main NetWeaver feature is the master data management service that supports data integration from multiple systems, physical locations and diverse vendors, SAP said.
