Siebel Systems Inc. is expanding its customer relationship management (CRM) offerings in Europe through a deal with Germany's T-Systems International GmbH, which will begin offering Siebel's hosted CRM software to businesses in nine European countries early next year.
Under the deal, announced Tuesday, businesses in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia and Russia will soon be offered Siebel's CRM applications over the Web. The service will first be introduced in Germany in February, and rolled out to the other countries later in 2005.
Pricing was not immediately available. Siebel introduced the service in the U.S. last year for US$70 per user, per month.
T-Systems already had an existing relationship with Siebel, deploying the business application provider's on-premise CRM software to telecommunications and financial customers.
With the extended partnership, businesses in the region will soon have the option of contracting Siebel CRM OnDemand from T-Systems as well. The hosted service is aimed at current in-house CRM customers who want to extend the capabilities to their partners or branch offices, as well as small and medium-size businesses who do not want to pay setup and deployment costs, Siebel said.
The service offers sales, marketing, analytics and service functions and can be deployed over companies' existing IT infrastructure. Siebel said that it sees growing demand for hosted CRM particularly in Europe, where there is a plethora of medium-size businesses.
The San Mateo, California, company has already targeted the European CRM market through its global partnership with IBM Corp. and with British Telecommunications PLC (BT). BT began offering the service in the U.K. late last year.
