How projects really work

Every once in a while, you'll see the "How projects really work" cartoon popping up on blogs across the Web. A few years ago, a site called Project Cartoon emerged, allowing you to customize the cartoon for your own organization or project. You can even get it in poster or T-shirt form. But the site's owner doesn't even know where the original came from, and he says there are versions dating back to the 1960s. This timeless illustration of IT project management just seems to strike a chord, and every time someone sees it for the first time, they recognize its simple truths.
