Bossie 2010 winner: OpenNMS

OpenNMS is an enterprise-grade network monitoring system that competes against the likes of IBM Tivoli and HP OpenView. Since our September 2009 review of OpenNMS, the version 1.8 branch has been released, adding great features such as remote pollers and ACLs to restrict access to the various devices being monitored. OpenNMS also supports RADIUS authentication, RANCID integration, automatic network map creation, and deep integration with several popular ticketing systems, including Best Practical's Request Tracker. Sys admins will also appreciate the iPhone app that gives you convenient access to your monitoring data, and the support for Asterisk and microblogs (such as Twitter and Identi.ca) for notifications.
