Just sold on eBay for: $36

What better way to enjoy your Best of A Flock of Seagulls CD (hypothetically speaking, of course) than on the world’s first commercially available CD player? When it first came out in 1982, it was only released in Japan and wasn’t available in the U.S. until the following year. Forget impressing your hipster audiophile friends with those scratchy old LPs; CDs are the new vinyl! I want.

There you have it. You can still buy all of these items today, which originally cost $12,010 (the equivalent of $27,548 in today’s dollars) for somewhere around $1,046 (give or take), and relive 1982 all over again. Flock of Seagulls CD (and haircut) not included.

What were the hot tech items when you were a kid? Did you still have any of them? Please share.
