Watch this cool homemade Jurassic Park shot-by-shot clip

Is Sweding the new mash-up in video creation circles?

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon the CineFix YouTube channel, which produced a very cool shot-by-shot video of the Iron Man 3 trailer.

After subscribing to their channel, I was alerted to their latest video, a shot-by-shot version of a scene from "Jurassic Park", featuring the part where the three main characters are inside the van and Jeff Goldblum's character is discussing Chaos Theory with Laura Dern's character. Take a look:

While mash-up videos are certainly still popular on YouTube, I'm beginning to think that shot-by-shot videos (also known as movies that are "Sweded", coined in the 2008 movie "Be Kind Rewind") can take that to the next level. You have to make sure not only that your actors look like the characters, but the cameras have to reproduce the same shot, or close to it. That's dedication.

For the same video, take a look at the side-by-side comparison to see how specific they got:

Sadly, there were no dinosaurs in this clip. But maybe we'll see some in future videos (I'd love to see how the homemade version can replicate the dinosaurs). Other shot-by-shot videos: * Live Action Toy Story * The Avengers Trailer 2 - Sweded
