Flexible displays get curvier, better definition

Crystalline tech creates new designs for wearables and phones


We've seen some flexible display videos before, but in this report from DigInfo News, we see some higher-definition displays that are using C-Axis Aligned Crystal (CCAC) oxide semiconductors to create better flexibility.


As the report explains, the crystalline nature of CAAC provides higher reliability than amorphous-based oxide semiconductors. This allows for cool prototypes like curved, wearable smart watches, as well as phone displays that can curve around the edges and provide additional real estate for data.

In addition to the bendable displays, the technology can be adapted to provide bendable batteries. Very cool. Check out more via the DigInfo site.
