More free online storage is always good news. Recently, Microsoft announced this sweet offer for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, and Windows users: an extra 15GB of storage on top of the free 15GB OneDrive already comes with. Here's how to grab it.
All you have to do is activate the auto upload feature for your photos. On Windows, it's a little tricky to get to: Right-click on the OneDrive cloud icon and go to Settings. Then head to the second tab ("More info") and click the "Go to PC settings" button. This will take you to the OneDrive metro app settings, where you can turn on auto uploading of photos and/or videos under the "Camera roll" section.
Mobile users should check their app settings for the similar camera upload option.
With this turned on, photos and videos in your camera roll photo will be automatically uploaded to OneDrive and synced with other devices you have OneDrive installed on.
If you want to save space, change the setting to upload photos at "good" rather than "best" quality.
The extra 15GB is on top of not only the usual 15GB of free OneDrive space, but any other space you've earned or bought--for example, if you were grandfathered in the 25GB plan or have referral bonuses.
With so much free online storage space going around, the challenge is now to figure out what to do with it all.
According to NDTV Gadgets, this offer is good until the end of September, so go grab your free space as soon as you can.
