The craziest tech story in a while is the recent admission by Volkswagen that the software in its diesel cars was designed to cheat on emissions tests. Not surprisingly, aside from the E.P.A., many owners of the 500,000 vehicles affected in the United States aren’t happy at being deceived about the real environmental impact of their cars. This makes me wonder what other smart devices in my life aren’t being completely forthright. Hmmm….
