Looping the Easy Way

One of the nice things about writing a column every week is that I don't often have to tackle the really big issues -- such as why Unix is still the best OS or which big company is buying which other big company and how this is going to affect all of us. Instead, I can hone in on an issue as small and personal as how you loop through a sequence of values in a script. Speaking of looping, I've just learned (and then implemented) a new trick.

The concept of retweets was born in the Twitter community. According to ancient legend, Tim O'Reilly initially popularized, and may have invented, the concept of the retweet. Do you struggle with PST files? You're not alone. Robert Sparnaaij, author of the popular HowTo-Outlook Web site calls managing PST files "true hell." You break roaming if you store them on local drives, but you shouldn't store them on network drives. Either way you look at it Microsoft Data Center management did not follow standards or best practices in this failure. In which case it makes me wonder more about the outsourcing of corporate data much less personal data.
