If you watched any part of NBC's coverage of the Olympics over the weekend, chances are you've seen at least one of the three new ads from Apple touting its Mac computers and the "Apple Genius."

Last week when I was putting together one of the new Lego Lord of the Rings sets for my son, I noticed a little logo on the box advertising the Lego Lord of the Rings video game, made by Traveller's Tales, which made all of the Lego Star Wars, Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter Lego games. I went, "Huh?

I'm sure many people will be interested in the Lumia 820 and 920 smartphones (running the Windows 8 phone OS), which Nokia and Microsoft announced today, even after next week's expected Apple iPhone 5 announcement. Maybe they'll all get excited enough to go to the store to actually look at them and compare them to the iPhone 5.

My son and I have completed the story mode of the Lego Lord of the Rings video game (we're now doing all of the side quests and unlocking characters), but one thing we noticed is the large amount of video cutscenes offered between missions.

In yet another Avengers homage, we are treated to this video, in which the characters from the hit Marvel movie appear as if they were in the opening credits of the fan-popular TV show "Firefly", which was, of course, created by Joss Whedon, who directed Avengers. Got it? Enjoy.
