Not long after launching its App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch in July 2008, Apple began turning its "There's an app for that" marketing slogan into a geek catchphrase, dryly worked into party conversations and adapted by thousands of bloggers looking for a clever pop-culture reference.

Shares of technology giant IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM) reached an all-time high in mid-afternoon trading Monday before falling off slightly. IBM shares got as high as $139.94 around 2:30 p.m. before settling back to 139.66 at market's close. IBM ended the day up 81 cents, or 0.58 percent, from Friday's closing price of 138.85.
