April 12, 2012, 3:59 PM — Here's another gem from the AT&T TechChannel team - it's a 1938 recruitment film for young women, encouraging them to take on the role of telephone operators. Once a booming industry, advances in direct dialing and other technologies made this job obsolete by the 1970s. Here's a couple of clips and bits honoring the telephone operator:
