June 28, 2012, 5:39 PM — The AT&T Tech Channel on YouTube has posted a 20-minute film documenting the recovery efforts in 1975 after a major fire took out more than 170,000 phone customers in New York City. At the time, it was the largest disaster for phone service the country had ever seen (until the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks). If you're interested in disaster recovery efforts or just want to see how companies did things in the '70s, this film is worth a look.
The company has further details on its blog.
