Tech companies celebrate Earth Day in cool ways

April 17, 2009, 04:22 PM —  ITworld —

While we should be caring for the planet every day, we asked technology companies how they plan to celebrate Earth Day, and we're happy to report that the environment is still top-of-mind.

Efforts run the gamut from carbon offsets, and tree planting to some freebies and product discounts. But this list only scratches the surface of some of the great things in the works. If you're a tech company doing something kind for the environment, we apologize that we missed you, and we ask that you submit your contribution as a comment below.

Contests

Terrabytes Consulting is holding a green IT resolution contest to help companies kick their bad IT habits. Write your business' Green IT Resolution in 100-words or less, and submit by 5:00 pm on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2009. The winner will receive a Green IT Assessment and assistance in setting up a green IT program. The company will also be featured on the Terrabytes and Green IT Tools websites.
