Dell shareholders overwhelmingly voted in favor of taking Dell private. What’s the advantage of doing this? Won’t it make it harder for the company to raise capital by issuing additional stock?

From what I can see, if you establish either, it will cause pretty much the same information to be available as a Google search result. Is there an advantage to one over the other, or does a company need both? We are a small business, so everything we do means that we are devoting some of our limited resources in time and effort towards it.

I like the idea of an Ubuntu phone, but they fell waaaaaaay short of their $32 million goal, raising “only” $12.8 million, As I understand it, with Kickstarter, if you don’t meet your goal, you get nothing, so I assume Canonical got zilch. Will they still make the Edge anyway?

Apparently Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In organization is looking for an unpaid intern to work there. Ms. Sandberg made a measly $92,000,000, but you know, times are tough, so there isn’t enough left over to pay some intern $10 an hour.

This morning, the first thing I heard was a story on NPR about Yahoo! launching a month long campaign leading up the reveal of its new logo. I practically never use anything from Yahoo!, so maybe I’m not the target (or maybe I am), but it seems risky to change a very recognizable logo to something else. Is this a wise move for Yahoo!?

Which is the better choice for SMB advertising - Google Display (on websites) or AdWords (in Google search results)?

Google Maps is already great, and it already shows users the traffic conditions through use of different colors for routes based on congestion/delays. Yet, they spent $1.1 BILLION dollars to purchase Waze (an Israeli mapping company).

Zynga just laid off almost 20% of it’s workforce, and closed offices in New York, Dallas and LA. Frankly, I’m something of a Zynga hater due to all the dumb request their games generate on Facebook, but I don't like to see anyone lose their job.

Over the past six months, Apple's stock is down over $300 per share, and the total loss of market value adds up to about $290 billion. Yeah, billion with a "b". What's behind this? Apple hasn't suddenly imploded that I'm aware of, and they are still selling boat loads of iPads and iPhones.
