    When people are just getting into wireless networking they can often be overwhelmed by the amount of information that is out there, says Brandon Carroll, author of the CCNA Wireless Official Exam Certification Guide. His advice: "Learn the fundamentals. Learn them inside out.... The sooner you get the big picture the easier it becomes to configure a wireless network as various parameters begin to take shape in your mind."

    The question at hand: Do vendor specific certification programs need the radio frequency (RF) transmission training or is that more important to the guys who are installing it?

    As I have spent much time with Cisco equipment I have had a tendency to lean towards Cisco Certifications. It's not that I don't like other vendors, it's just that this is the world I live in. But still when it comes to the wireless arena I have found that there are not too many options.
