Research In Motion (RIM) has admitted it's struggling to keep up with demand for the BlackBerry Storm touchscreen smartphone, but said supply problems should clear up in the coming weeks.

Wow.....iPhone is nothing.......very verstile....excellent clarity, easy to use features....just get use to it and oh what a marvelous piece!....love it love it love it!!!!!

Blackberry storm issues
Blackberry had nearly 18 months to learn from the iPhone - and didn't.
I have had the Storm since 12/3 (having ordered it the first weekend available. This is my first PDA as I wanted one with complete capability on my service (Verizon), including one for my oversized fingers. Storm seemed to fit the bill.
I have the latest update (o.75) yet problems abound:
1.) email needs a delete all feature.
2.) email filters need to be more sophisticated. I really don't want to see all of the junk that comes across my desktop - yet do need to see important stuff from business collegues and friends. Unless I limit access to my contacts list I can't do that. Which means I need to expand my contacts significantly and in directions I can't necessarily foresee.
3.)The keyboard is woefully slow.
4.)The system does not resume connection once it has been lost. I have to answer a question about whether I want the connection resumed. Duh!
5.)Telephone reception is not nearly as good as my previous LG phone.
6.)My son has the same bluetooth for his older Blackberry as I do for the Storm. The device does not work nearly as well on the Storm.
7.)Rotation between portrait mode and landscape mode is incredibly slow.
8.) Voice recognition for names in my contact list is not nearly as good as it was on my LG.
9.) Typing response is slow. Great idea to detect pressure from one side or another depending upon which thumb is used. However, even though the correct letter lights up as I push it, quite often the screen shows the wrong letter.
As you can see, I've focussed on two areas only, phone and email. I refuse to use the other applications until these two are fixed. Based on what I've been reading, it may be a long time coming. (Months being a long time in this 24/7 world.
Too bad RIM, I thought you had a good thing!

I agree with Pete. I've had my Storm for about a week and the voice recognition software is not good. When I call a name on my contact list the Storm often doesn't even list it among the top 3 choices. Also when it says the name back I can't understand what its saying.
I had an LG phone for 2years and never had this problem. Tomorow I'm going to the Verizon store to see if there's a problem with my phone or if this is the quality of all Storms.
