Microsoft's Web site struggled to stay online early Friday as users eager to download the first public beta of Windows 7 began overloading the company's servers -- to no avail, since the beta code isn't scheduled to be posted on the site until this afternoon.

Either way you look at it Microsoft Data Center management did not follow standards or best practices in this failure. In which case it makes me wonder more about the outsourcing of corporate data much less personal data.
