Hi from the FeedFlix team. Thanks for the write-up. We just wanted to emphasize that there is no security risk in joining FeedFlix. Netflix uses the OAuth mechanism which allows your Netflix credentials (ie your email+password) to always remain private - these are *not* shared with FeedFlix. We apologize for the few hiccups you've had in signing up. Just saw a dozen or so users sign-up in the last few minutes - so everything's humming along fine now. Do come join!

FeedFlix setup
As appealing as this service sounds I, like the author, found the initial setup to be not ready for prime time. I tried about a dozen time without success...

Find another way
If you use Firfox add-on Greasemonkey, you can build a script to perform the same functionality without requiring you to store your Netflix credentials (i.e access to credit card) with another company.
All you would need to do is preview each of the pages once and you could make a script to put all the information together in a summary page.

Hiccup
I just had a hiccup and had to start over.
This may be because I have about 4 years of Netflix history to sync.

History correction
Actually, I'm about 5 1/2 years Netflix membership (wow, didn't realize), so that could totally be my issue.
Either way, I just had another hiccup and had to try again.

No luck for me either.
No luck for me either. Sounds good though. I'd love to try it.

Tried it
I tried this, but can't get it to go beyond 5%. Does not seem to be "humming along."

Still Trying - no luck
I have tried about 6-7 times today, and no luck yet.
Maybe the trouble is FireFox 3.0.8 ??
I'll keep trying for maybe 5 or 6 times, then give up.

Netlfix does this
Under your account, Netflix will give you a complete list of everything you've rented, with dates. I copied and pasted, and my editor counted the lines (movies). I did have to compute cost per movie myself. It was easier than posting this comment, by far. Those reCAPTA things are unreadable, and the try another doesn't seem to work.

Feedflix timed out
Having problems using Feedflix. Seems to be timing out. May just be the high volume because of the Google article placement. I'll try it again tonight to see how it works. I do a lot of instant movies & rentals, so I expect to see I'm getting a better deal than most ;)

fascinating
Fascinating, you know I have alwyas wondered if Netflix was a good deal or a crock. I am leery because its yet another subscription thing and if you don't use it you lose it, just like my Gym bills. I dislike subscriptions and prefer "pay as you use" models personally though so I'm giving it a pass for now. Plus I only rent like 5 movies a year.

Worked Great
Good Catch, worked fine for me, only took about 30 seconds to get a very detailed overview.

Worked for me too :)
FeedFlix worked like a charm. Nice reports in less than a minute. My price per movie turned out to be $1.12, I guess I'm getting a good deal with Netflix :)
The Netflix Blue Ray increase is a little frustrating though. It's just another way of raising the price (not that the others don't do it, DirecTV for example). Blue Ray is the new standard. Some honesty, please...
On the good side, the Netflix service, accuracy, speed and variety are great! I love it!

Sidekick: The Good News & the Bad News Either way you look at it Microsoft Data Center management did not follow standards or best practices in this failure. In which case it makes me wonder more about the outsourcing of corporate data much less personal data.

AISO founders envisioned a Web hosting company that was environmentally friendly. While the company employed energy-efficient innovations like solar panels, its infrastructure produced unacceptable power and cooling requirements. Find out how AISO leveraged AMD technology to overcome their challenge in this case study white paper.
In this whitepaper, Scalar explores the opportunity to change the landscape with respect to mission critical databases
built around Oracle. Leveraging technologies such as Linux, high-end commodity processing power and Oracle RAC
technology to architect, design, build and maintain database infrastructure that delivers maximum availability, reliability
and performance at a fraction of traditional cost.
On a typical day, weather.com, the Web site for The Weather Channel in Atlanta, serves up between 15 million and 20 million page views. But in September 2004, when back-to-back hurricanes ransacked Florida, the peak traffic on one day more than tripled: over 70 million page views by more than 7 million unique visitors.
