July 31, 2013, 1:29 PM — One of the easiest ways to boost productivity is to use shortcuts and save time on repetitive tasks. Along those lines, here's a really simple tip: Pin Office files for instant access.
As the Experiments in Finance explains, when you work with a bunch of documents, they all end up in the Recent Documents list, burying the ones you use most.
To ensure those files always stay on your Recent Documents list, just go to File > Recent Documents and click on the pin next to the filename to turn it green. That is all.
