Quickly see which Chrome tab is playing that annoying video or music

The latest Chrome beta shows you which sites are being noisy--and nosy

By

Ever shuffle through a myriad of tabs looking for that site that's auto-started a video or just started making noise? Google's latest Chrome Beta to the rescue!

You'll now see a sound icon in the tab when a site is playing audio. In addition, Chrome will show you if a site is using your webcam or casting to your TV.

Other additions include automatic blocking of malware files, and a new look for Chrome in Windows 8 "Metro" mode.

These features should be coming to the standard Chrome browser later. Finally, no more hunting down annoying sites!
