Google Now arrives on Chrome for desktop

At least in the Chrome Canary (alpha) build

By

It's been a long time coming, but slowly and surely those helpful Google Now cards are coming to Chrome on the desktop. The proof? It's now integrated into the latest Chrome Canary build (made for developers and early adopters).

That means, eventually, users of the stable version of Chrome will likely also see those cards showing the current weather, upcoming appointment reminders, news, and more--available through the Chrome notification (a bell icon) in the Windows system tray or Mac menu bar.

If you want to check it out ahead of time, download the Chrome Canary latest build and, as the Google Operating System blog points out, head to the chrome://flags/#enable-google-now page to enable the Google Now notifications.
