Video game avatars are going to get a lot more realistic, thanks to a new process for facial-animation capturing developed by Microsoft Research. In this video, the company discusses the process that can produce "realistic dynamic wrinkles and finely scaled facial details." The process uses the latest motion-capture technology combined with advanced 3D scanning technology to achieve this.

Pretty cool stuff, although I don't want to see an animated Keith running around - I have too many real wrinkles, much less dynamic ones.
