James Cameron really likes the water - the famous director of 'Avatar', 'Titanic' and 'Terminator 2' also directed a great film in the '90s - 'The Abyss', which featured a team of deep divers that discover an alien life form in the depths of the ocean.

This fascination with deep-sea diving must have rubbed off on Cameron, because as this National Geographic video shows, Cameron plans to soon dive "in a specially designed submarine to the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean, earth's deepest point." National Geographic says that no human has attempted such a dive since 1960.

Let's hope Cameron doesn't find any aliens down there. And that he brings his camera.
