Lifesize launches enterprise SaaS video collaboration offering

Lifesize, a division of Logitech, has launched its Software-as-a-Service business-class video collaboration offering.

Lifesize Cloud provides a connected experience to anyone using smartphones, tablets, laptops and especially conference rooms.

It is delivered as SaaS and is for organisations that want business-class video collaboration without taxing their budget or IT resources.

Frost and Sullivan analyst, Roopam Jain, said there was not question that video collaboration was aggressively moving toward the cloud.

"Lifesize has nailed this user need with the introduction of Lifesize Cloud, a bold departure from the complex and costly ways of implementing video," he said.

"By integrating its conference room video system with an intuitive, feature-rich hosted cloud infrastructure, it is clear that Lifesize continues to innovate." Lifesize Cloud enables natural communication instantly or scheduled and is purpose-built for organisations of all sizes to implement an affordable, simple and scalable video conferencing solution with little to no need for IT involvement. Lifesize chief executive, Craig Molloy, said the demand for video communication in business was skyrocketing, driven primarily by free, consumer-focused applications.

"As a result, users now expect to have the same simple experience in the office, connected across laptops and mobile devices," he said.

It works seamlessly with smartphones, laptops, tablets and telephones through the Lifesize Cloud app

The Lifesize Icon room video system also works out of the box.

It allows up to 25-way calls in HD video or audio for every user and virtual meeting and admins no longer need to manage scarce multi-party bridging ports Subscription plans start at $27 per user, per month.
