How to move your domain and Outlook mail to Google Apps and Gmail

Do you have a domain with email that you want to move over to Gmail and Google Apps? I've got help. I recently made the move myself. Here's how to move the domain and email, complete with "gotchas" you should watch out for, based on my hands-on experience.

Check your existing domain information

During the changeover, you're going to get up close and personal with your domain's management dashboard, making changes to things like MX records, and adding TXT files. Before you get started is the time to get familiar with it, not during the changeover process. So log in and look around. If you can't log in because you've forgotten your password or for some other reason, check with your provider to find out how to do it.
