The SEC has formally proposed a ban on the practice of 'flash' trading where large financial companies get access to trading information fractions of a second before it becomes public and use superfast computers to push through buy and sell orders.
Insiders represent the greatest threat to the secure data of financial services firms, according to the latest Verizon Business Data Breach report. This marks a strong contrast with companies in other sectors, such as high tech services, food and beverage, and retail, which saw business partners as posing the greatest risk to their data.
Where Google Chrome security fails: the password I heard mention that the Chrome OS will have some sort of encryption available a la bitlocker. If it's possible to encrypt personal data using another password or key, then it may have potential for very secure data.... And Ubuntu has an 'encrypt home directory' option, perhaps google should follow suit.
