Acer adds two new all-in-One PCs to Windows 8 lineup

Acer on Monday announced several additions to its Windows 8 device lineup including two new all-in-one PC models.

Acer on Monday announced several additions to its Windows 8 device lineup including two new all-in-one PC models and two touch-ready high definition monitors. The new all-in-one PCS feature 10-point multi-touch screens, high definition displays, optical drives, dual-core third-generation Intel Ivy Bridge Core processors, and 1 terabyte hard drives. Here's a look at what's coming.

Aspire 5600U and 7600U

Both AIOs will come loaded with multi-touch displays, 1 TB hard drives, 802.11a//b/g/n Wi-Fi, HDMI out, Bluetooth, multi-card readers, Windows 8, VESA wall mounts, and the ability to recline the displays up to an 80 degree angle. Both AIOs measure 1.4 inches in depth.

Set to debut on October 26, the Acer Aspire 5600U all-in-one PC features a 23-inch touch display with 1920-by-1080 resolution, a dual-core 2.4Ghz Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB RAM, integrated graphics, optical drive with a Blu-ray upgrade option, three USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports. Pricing for the 5600U starts at $1,149.

There will also be a non-touch version of the 5600U featuring 6GB RAM and a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor. The non-touch version at launch will be available only at Best Buy for $1000.

Following in late November, the 7600U features a larger 27-inch 1920-by-1080 display, a dual-core 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5-3210M processor, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT640M GPU, four USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, and a Blu-ray drive. Pricing starts at $1,900.

Desktop PC fans looking for a new Windows 8-friendly monitor can check out Acer's new T2 series featuring a 23-inch and 27-inch model. Both displays feature edge-to-edge multi-touch displays, 1920-by-1080 resolution, IPS technology with viewing angles up to 178 degrees on the 23-inch model, 5ms response time, and the ability to tilt 60 degrees. Pricing for the 23-inch T232HL starts at $500 and $700 for the 27-inch T272HL.

Acer previously announced a number of Windows 8 devices includingnew Ultrabooks and mid-range laptops, theW700 andW510 Iconia tablets, and Aspire S7 Ultrabooks.
