The company's playful reference to "42" also refers to the number 42 that had a central role in the science fiction novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where it is described as the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything."

It's an ambitious name for an ambitious idea.
