New Jersey Nets forward Sean Williams was arrested Monday after allegedly throwing a computer monitor in a cell phone store outside of Denver, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

The report says that Williams, who was kicked out of Boston College in 2007 for a rules violation, was charged with felony criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, following an altercation with an AT&T Mobility store clerk at the Park Meadows Mall.

The Star-Ledger story says that the monitor and other equipment broke, resulting in between US$1,200 and $1,300 in damages. Apparently the computer wasn't a ruggedized model.

Of course Williams wouldn't be the first high profile thrower of electronics equipment. Actor Russell Crowe made headlines in 2005 after whipping a desk phone at a New York hotel clerk.

In 2007, rap singer Foxy Brown was arrested after being charged with whacking her neighbor upside the head with a BlackBerry.
