Time-lapse shows construction of original Microsoft campus

Microsoft honors creation of original 88 acres in Redmond

Microsoft has posted a very cool time-lapse video showcasing the construction of its original campus back in 1986 as part of an article celebrating its history.

Today, the campus now spans more than 500 acres and includes "a soccer field, cricket pitch, miles of wooded walking paths - and 14.9 million square feet of office space and labs that now function as one interconnected system," Microsoft says. But the original campus was 88 acres of land built on a site where a grocery store was set to be built in Redmond.

If you're interested, go here to read more about the history of the campus and Microsoft's plans to modernize everything through its new data centers.
