July 17, 2012, 9:27 PM — Amazon's Germany site lists five models of Microsoft's new Surface tablet PC, including a smaller 32GB model previously unannounced.
The Surface product pages don't list prices or release dates, but simply direct users to sign up via email to be notified when they become available.
Four of the 10.6-inch tablets (spotted on the German forum NetzwerkTotal) match the models Microsoft unveiled during its Surface announcement, as well as the specs sheet available on Microsoft's Surface website.
Windows 8 Pro Surface Tablets
Two Windows 8 Pro Surface tablets we've reported on are listed: one with 64GB of flash memory and the other with 128GB. The Surface Pro tablets are the beefier models, with Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processors and the full version of Windows 8. They are also expected to cost more than typical tablets--more in line with Ultrabooks, the main competition for the Surface Pro.
According to The Next Web, sources close to Microsoft claim the Surface Pro will start at $999 (while the Surface RT tablet would start at $599). This would actually put the Surface Pro 64GB model several hundred dollars above some of the more recently announced Ultrabooks that range in price from $599 to $799.
However, Amazon Germany has also revealed a surprise 32GB Surface Pro model, with the same processor and presumably similar other hardware features (e.g., full HD display, USB 3.0, 42 watt-hour battery, stylus pen support).
