Hard numbers and quantifiable results are irresistible to recruiters and hiring managers. If you want to make your resume more attractive than it has ever been, replace platitudes like, "reduced downtime" with "reduced downtime and outages by 31%."
That's all fine and dandy, you think, but can you attach numbers to everything? More than you think, notes The Savvy Intern.
Check out this example:
"Instead of saying 'I took a class about project management' you can say 'Spent 35 hours learning and implementing project management methodologies.' It may not sound like a huge difference to you, but it will go a long way towards keeping the recruiter engaged."
Take a spin through your resume. See which bullets or highlights have hard numbers attached and which don't. For those still too general, think about how you can quantify that experience.
