The best time of the day to post on LinkedIn

Inside the times when you will receive the most exposure

If you post something fantastic on LinkedIn and no one in your network sees it, does it make an impact?

The existential set may debate that over coffee, but the practical networking professional would most likely say "No." After all, that's why everyone is on LinkedIn in the first place: to network, find a new job, clients, look awesome, etc.

Why waste time crafting or sharing something that highlights you for the amazingly valuable professional that you are if no one is there to be impressed?

Cami Bird over at MarketMeSuite outlines a series of LinkedIn missteps, advice primarily geared toward corporations establishing their LinkedIn brand. However, there's an excellent tip there for individuals: the best and worst times to post to the site.

Best morning time: 7-8:30 a.m.
Best evening time: 5-6 p.m.

"Users are more likely to look up news on their LinkedIn in the morning (between 7-8:30a.m. while they are getting settled at work) and in the evening (between 5-6p.m. when they are wrapping up for the day or on their phone while commuting home)," Bird notes.

The worst time: Monday and Friday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Post then and you will be wasting your opportunity to receive the most traffic.

Site AllTwitter notes: "Tuesday and Thursday typical receive the most social media traffic from businesspeople."
