No bidders for bat-shaped bread (and peeing for science)

In our collection of oddities this week we find some relief from stories about people making gobs of money selling stuff that looks like other stuff, NASA finally showing some concern about an issue that has troubled us all since we first stepped into the Apollo model at the science museum, and proof from the animal kingdom that Circuit City is a wretched store. Also, we exact our revenge on the iPhone 3G and we take a little time to mock a student hacker.

Facebook at Work: Stop or Support?

Network World just ran a story reporting a survey of about 200 human resources professionals at major companies. They found that only one in four actively blocks employee access to Facebook and other social networking sites. VoIP Security: Secrets and Hype

Greatest Challenge in VoIP Security

The greatest challenge in VoIP security is that there are very few good example case studies available. There are some very good VoIP deployments. But try to find a white-paper with someone disclosing all the their success stories in building a perfect VoIP network. No luck! Unfortunately much of that data is hidden in confidential documents. Still, I have really loved to see VoIP security emerge and evolve from being a hindrance in VoIP deployment, into a key marketing value. Finally some of those success stories will get a chance to see daylight.
