Game developers have warned for just as long that rampant piracy was costing them billions and would drive them out of business.     So now it's official: the WiFi-only Motorola Xoom is launching on March 27th at seven different retailers. The price will be $599, and that price seems to be causing much rejoicing. In fact I was happy to hear it myself. And then I became very sad that the tablet manufacturers have me thinking of $600 as a great price for a tablet.

    The other day I downloaded a very nifty app for my Motorola Droid: Arcade by Kongregate. The app promised to offer 300 Flash games on my phone. To be clear, these were all games from Kongregate.com, a Flash-game portal of some renown.

    iOS game developers are starting to move to Android, but the platform isn't nearly as homogeneous as iOS is, and Google recently cut the refund window from 24 hours to 15 minutes. That means some gamers are finding themselves with broken apps and no means to get their money back.

    The idea of having a Chrome Web Store stocked with apps was kind of appealing; after all I can waste plenty of time poking through the iTunes App Store or Android Market. But the reality, at least for now, didn't live up to the hype.

    Hulu keeps improving the reach and value of its Hulu Plus service. This time it's a price drop, free trial offers and another streaming device supported. Of course there's still the issue of those pesky ads.
